Yakuza by Oliver is our favorite place for sushi in Lisbon. The lunch set for 25 euros and the direct parking right in front of the restaurant make it a very convenient, tasty, and stylish choice. The place is located right next to Avenida da Liberdade.
Casinha Velha is among our greatest local discoveries. We have found that typical Porutguese two-story “old house” (as it is named) at the suburbs of Leiria. It is a rustic and authentic local place with using highest quality ingredients. Don’t be fooled by the look and feel of its façade. Nowhere else have we seen such a collection of whiskeys and wines in Portugal. Michelin and Smartplace recommended.
Sol’e Vida is another example of a family-run place that characterizes Silver Coast. Simple, authentic and beautifully situated at the rocky tip of Consolacao. Since Gordon Ramsey posted on Facebook his photo from there it transformed from plastic plates and small one-room tin bar into a two-deck, slightly lifted beach restaurant. One thing has not change: the food. Close in winter season. Make sure to try octopus salad, stuffed crab and their home sparkling green wine.
Seame is a modern peixaria where you can eat excellent sushi and seafood. Located in the heart of Bairro Alto in Lisbon, it also has its own stall in the Time Out Market with a simplified menu. Our favorite: the tuna prego.
Ritz Lisbon, makes you feel like in Paris or London after just 50 minute’s drive. We love it for Easter and New Year’s Brunch (book well in advance, the waiting list gets extremely long). It offers the best-in-town parking and two Michelin-starred restaurants: Cura and Kabuki. You can also enjoy its lobby bar and Veranda restaurant with live sushi.

Quinta do Arneio is an organic farm located south of Torres Vedras. Yes, it’s a 50-minute drive — but definitely worth it. It’s a great place to stop on the way to or from Lisbon (exit 8, Torres Sul). Their shop is open from Wednesday to Sunday. We absolutely love every one of their products — from granola and green detox juice to arugula, green beans, and strawberries. Just fill an entire wooden crate with these goodies and take it home. Then enjoy… and repeat.
100% Italian, an authentic experience where two brothers stand side by side at a wood-fired oven doing an amazing job, serving the best pizza and Italian cuisine in the region. Equally impressive is the selection of Italian wines and beers. Just give it a try!
Profresco at the Peniche peninsula is a perfect alternative to fish market. You can take-away as well as dine-in. Situated by the cliff and offering also outdoor patio this place has its own haute-tavern style. Must-visit!
adaria Marquito is a local Warsaw’s Charlotte-alike Ferrel-based new place. Homemade, bio-flour powered. It offers fresh bread, pastries and bagels. Visit before noon as the inventory gets sold-out pretty fast.
Mirandum is a small, local spot specialising in crustaceans in Peniche. It was recommended to us by true Peniche locals who love going there and consider it the number one place for seafood.
Kalifood is a bio place for breakfast and lunch recently expanded into deli. The closest to Warsaw’s SAM you can get in our neighborhood. Located in the heart of Ferrel. We often come by for a moment when in town.
Restaurant located at the very end of Foz do Arelho, overlooks the entrance of the Atlantic Ocean into Obidos Lagoon. It is outstanding place for lunch or dinner, especially for local seafood. We would never go there if it hadn’t been recommended to us by our physiotherapist. Btw he is great and runs his practice in Caldas under the name of Prime Physio.
Davvero is an Italian-cuisine place opened in Sublime Lisbon by Isaac Kumi, who is behind openings of numerous Cipriani places around the world. Enough said.
It’s a new pizza place in Caldas da Rainha. The owner, Tiago, adopted enormous interiors of a historic building of then house of the architect responsible for designing Queen’s Dona Leonor nearby Thermal Hospital (that is said to be the first in the world). From Thursdays till Saturdays the bar opens at 9pm. King Fernando used to hangout there. We are talking 15th century here..
Should be your place for lunch in Nazare. Just 45km drive north from our resort, Nazare is a must-seen place for surfing enthusiasts. You increase your chances of watching big waves riders if you plan your trip between October and February.
Yes, it is in Lisbon (not a Silver Coast for fact). And yes, it is packed with tourists, and you cannot book in advance. It is very obvious choice, and the prices are high (no doubt about it). Still, we love it for its fresh and perfectly balanced plates, and pisco sour. You just must try. Full stop.
It’s an easy beach bar at Praia de Areia Branca where you should enjoy a great brunch. Focused around healthy food and beach vibes this is a great place to break your fast. Also burgers are above average. It is 35 minutes drive from our Resort in the direction of Erriceira and definitely worth it.
Born in 2020 is our place-to-go for a fine dining in Lisbon. After trying most of the starred restaurants in the capital of Portugal that often fell below expectations, Cura focuses on Portuguese cuisines and spirits and does it right. Dinner only place, no a’la carte, just 5 or 10 course menu, great ambience and music. The signature dish being squid pasta. Wine menu offers variety of well-aged dessert wines from less obvious regions. Make sure to try 80-years old Carcavelos bottled in 1981 and put into the barrels in 1911. The vineyard is no longer there. And there were only 40 bottles left last time we visited. Hurry up!
Family-run restaurant situated at the entrance to the Praia Rei Cortico, just a few hundred meters down our Resort. We highly recommend having seabass or seabream from the grill. This is the nearest place to eat and we bet it will be the one you would end up visiting most frequently.
It is the safest bet in our area when it comes to lunch or dinner. The place where surf legends celebrate their victories in WSL Pro Portugal. Opened all seasons, the chef Joel is always there making sure the dishes are served as you expect them to be. We usually start with patanegra, followed by white fish pica-pau (outside of the menu). For the main dishes you would have long list of options from seafood and fish to meat. This place also runs a liquor shop which has a great selection and reasonable prices.
The only Michelin-starred restaurant in the region. It also received a green star for sustainability. Focus wholly on the local products sourced from Santarem area where it is located. Do not be fooled by those stars. The main dishes are at 26eur and the atmosphere is very easy. We recommend it for the winter season and our top pick is always the Bull Tail Gratin.
Anka is a polish hairdresser and local longboarder, she runs Hairtales in Ferrel. Having spent years working in London, Barcelona and Warsaw she has found her place here, close to Baleal where she regularly surfs (when she is not hairdressing). Specialites de la maison: Ferrelian look.
Probably the most unique location of all the restaurant we have been to so far. It’s a small town built on a cliff directly facing the ocean. Just a few kilometers north from Colares. Make sure to that you left your car on the top of the cliff in the direction of Sintra (for spectacular view) and order lobster salad.
