From September 15, as summer comes to an end, Óbidos Lagoon at Bom Sucesso officially opens for all water sports enthusiasts.
The western part of the lagoon, adjacent to the Atlantic, is known for having some of the best conditions for water sports in the region. For most of the summer, this area is mainly reserved for beachgoers who come to enjoy the wide sandy shores and calm, shallow waters. During this time, kitesurfers and windsurfers move to the eastern side of the lagoon, which provides year-round opportunities for sailing.
As summer comes to an end, kitesurfers can finally enjoy the entire lagoon, which—thanks to its unique geography—creates natural conditions for learning and improving skills, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. Regardless of the season, everyone can find space that fits their needs and skill level, making this one of the most versatile and attractive kitesurfing spots in Europe.
